Photowalk

So, now that I've decided to but some studio equipment, I thought I'd get a head start on learning all about that domain. I've been doing tons of reading, researching, watching and listening - Here is a catalogue of some of the sites and resources I have run across that I found very very useful.

After what seemed like months, we finally saw a full day of sunshine here in Ottawa. It was a warm -2oC degrees with a light wind that made it feel like -5oC, not too bad considering we're in the middle of January.

I took this opportunity to go out and get some good shots. I left my house at around 2pm, and headed for the Ottawa River Parkway. Close to my house, and quite scenic.

Very basic, yet very insightful - Marc Silber's eBook and did I mention it's free. It's only 11 pages long, but is very well created. I love the typography in it.

He gives a few tips that are common sense, but most of us usually never think of. There are a few shots of his work in the eBook as well.

If you like the book, he has some great shots of his work in his portfolio. Very inspirational. Now if only I could decide on a DSLR and go shoot some stuff around the city.

After listening to Robert Scoble on TWIT, and surfing around on his website, I ran across these great 'Photowalks' that he has done with Thomas Hawk.

Robert follows Thomas Hawk around San Francisco Bay and under the Golden Gate Bridge as he is taking photos and talking about his habits, photographing routine, style and work - and in all that, he throws out lots of great tips on how to become a better photographer.
