After waiting for days, and months, EA has finally released the jersey codes that allow you to unlock the third jerseys.
There was a lot of speculation about why it was held in such secrecy for so long, and I'm sure that story will emerge with time... but for now we can all enjoy the new looks.

Sadly, there will be nothing else to look forward to in the game...besides waiting for NHL 2010.
The image I had previously posted with news about the code, seemed to cause a bit of discussion (grief??) about who really belonged on the cover...therefore I opted to go with the Alternative Cover for the release of the Alternate Jersey Code.
A note from EA Sports:
Please note that if you have the code and play online with someone who does not have the code, there is a chance you may both be playing with dark jerseys as users without the code will not be able to see the alternate jerseys. This will be rectified next week when the team releases the planned roster update which will automatically insert the code for those that have not yet entered it.
