Wouldn't that be just amazing? The Monday morning headlines read - Google buys airwaves over the United States and Canada.
Just yesterday the Canadian Congress announced that they will be auctioning the radio airwaves to open up competition to new wireless content providers.
And today, Google has announced that they will be bidding for the 700mhz spectrum in the US. It would be awesome if they were to look north of the border and buy some airwaves here as well. Think of the possibilities. WOW!
The 'blogosphere' has been buzzing all day with this news:
The power (and money) that comes from Google doesn't cease to amaze me.
Thu, 12/06/2007 - 11:21 We talked about this... I remember. It's horrible how we get treated like the little brother to the US, but for a lot of things we are nothing like them. I lived in the US for 4-5 years, and had a lot of exposure to there, and I am glad to be in Canada. When it comes to technology, we don't even come into the picture most of the time. First there is a release in the US, then Europe, Brasil, India, and then maybe they'll look at Canada. It's frustrating...We still don't have the iPhone (Not that I care, but you know.. would be nice to play around with at a store, and see what the big deal is) :D.. haha
