Tue, 07/27/2010 - 18:57 actually I encountered this situation: sound but no video. I have video via HDMI and audio via optical. After switching on the PS3, the system said it had found an hdmi device, and if I wanted to use it. I said no (meaning: I want to keep my audio via optical). It turned off the video via HDMI. Audio kept working via optical. After switching on and off, it asked me again, and I chose YES ;-)
