This really helped although it wasnt exactly what you said, pressed to button thing the way you said and i got a list of 6 things... so i clicked restore default settings. Although at first i thought this was like amaster reset it restored all my data aswell, although i had to sign up to PSN again (with the same account) and have ot install updates agian.. but its all good :)
